Peruvian pink salt is harvested by hand high up the Andes Mountain in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the town, Maras, near Machu Pichu, there are spring-fed terraced ponds that overflow with mineral-rich saltwater springs. The practice of harvesting the salt from these ponds dates back AD200-AD900, before the Incas. This special salt is amazing on anything and can be ground fine and used in rubs or left coarse and used as a finishing salt.
